In our modern society, one our favourite words must be any version of the word BUSY...hectic, buried, overloaded, slaving, swamped, snowed, tied up. I was head over heels-hearts in my eyes in love with busyness. I ❤️ running from project to project with the enthusiasm of a squirrel getting ready for winter. I wouldn’t and ultimately couldn’t slow down for a minute without my mind running a mile a minute.
The result? I was bloody tired from the sole of my leopard printed shoes to the top of my honey-tined afro. It was only through working with my own Life Coach that opened me to the idea of I could be more productive and effective by slowing…the…hell…down.

1. Take a Deep Belly Breath
What’s a Deep Belly Breath you ask? A Deep Belly Breath is when you breathe deeply through your nose fully until you fill your lungs and the lower belly rises. Then releasing the breathe slowly through your mouth. Taking these deep breaths stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system that will bring about those zen vibes. It’s like a trip to the spa one breath at at time…yes please! Let’s take a pause and take 3 Deep Belly Breaths and experience the zen my friend.

2. Where are you right NOW?
Most of us spend a majority of our time either agonizing about the future and/or tormented about the past. Where does that leave us? Letting our busy beaver brains overshadow those precious moments that we are experiencing RIGHT NOW that make up a life.
I invite you to take a moment right now…yup right this moment to look around you….take a Deep Belly Breath…ask yourself these questions:
-What’s do you see around you?
-What colours really stand out?
-Take a pause, what do you hear?
-How do those sounds make you feel?
